 Procedures performed by Plastic Surgeons:
Breast: - Breast Augmentation: technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast for a number of reasons:
- To enhance the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small.
- To restore breast volume lost due to weight loss or following pregnancy.
- To achieve better symmetry when breasts are moderately disproportionate in size and shape.
- To improve the shape of breasts that are sagging or have lost firmness, often used with a breast lift procedure.
- To provide the foundation of a breast contour when a breast has been removed or disfigured by surgery to treat breast cancer.
- To improve breast appearance or create the appearance of a breast that is missing or disfigured due to trauma, heredity, or congenital abnormalities.
- Breast Lift: or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts--at least, for a time. Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. If your breasts are small or have lost volume--for example, after pregnancy--breast implants inserted in conjunction with mastopexy can increase both their firmness and their size.
- Breast Reconstruction: Restoring your figure following mastectomy. Breast reconstruction usually requires more than one operation.
Face: - BOTOX® Cosmetic: This is for the temporary treament of moderate to severe frown lines on the face.
- Eyelid Lift: technically called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. Small incisions made along natural creases and contours are used to remove and/or redistribute excess fat. Muscles may be tightened, excess skin may be removed, and tiny wrinkles may be smoothed. The end result is a more alert, more youthful appearance.
- Face Lift: As people age, the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun, and the stresses of daily life can be seen in their faces. Creases form between the nose and mouth; the jaw line grows slack and jowly; folds and fat deposits appear around the neck. A facelift (technically known as rhytidectomy) can’t stop this aging process. What it can do is “set back the clock,” improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
- Facial Fillers: Radiesse™ and Juvaderm™. As we age, the underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down, often leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet or facial creases over the areas where this muscle movement occurs. Soft-tissue fillers can help fill in these lines and creases, temporarily restoring a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. When injected beneath the skin, these fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face. They can also add fullness to the lips and cheeks. Click here for more information.
- Nose Reshaping: Cosmetic surgery of the nose, or rhinoplasty, is a procedure to improve the appearance of the nose. Specific features addressed in cosmetic surgery of the nose, and strictly for appearance enhancement include: Nose size, in relation to facial balance, nose width, nose tip, nose profile and nasal asymmetry.
Body: - Arm Lift: also known as brachioplasty, reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow.
- Liposuction: is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. Today, a number of new techniques are helping many plastic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don’t respond to traditional weight-loss methods.
- Laser Lipo: is a safe, comfortable, and effective treatment to firm your body. It is a minimally invasive office procedure that can be done on areas of the body that have unwanted fat. Popular areas are the abdomen, under the chin, love handles, saddle bags, inner and outer thighs, bra roll, arms, back, and even knees and ankles! The procedure delivers energy from the slender fiber laser to melt unwanted fat and firm tissue resulting in a tighter, slimmer appearance. It's a comfortable and easy treatment giving rapid results with minimal downtime.
- Tummy Tuck: also known as abdominoplasty, is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen.
